About NMDT

The NMDT School and its faculty focus on proper, professional and safe training, enhancing lives through the art of dance. As the student grows and progresses, dance becomes an integral part of their lives, promoting health and well-being, discipline, structure, a healthy competitive spirit, and the important elements of team work. Classes are offered on a year round basis.

 New Mexico Dance Theater School

The New Mexico Dance Theater School was founded by Susan Baker-Dillingham in August of 2004. Currently the school offers classes in "Mommy and Me," creative ballet, creative jazz, flamenco, jazz, tap, stretch and strengthen, pointe, partnering and all levels of ballet including teen and adult. At least two performing opportunities are provided to all students in the NMDT School on an annual basis.

  New Mexico Dance Theater Performance Company

The NMDT Performance Company, a non profit 501-c3 organization, is made up of intermediate and advanced pre-professional dancers. The Performance Company offers a professional setting to intermediate and advanced dancers in which to learn existing classical works, study with teachers and choreographers from around the world, and to perform their highly honed skills in a company of their peers. As many as three performing opportunities are provided to dancers in the NMDT Performance Company on an annual basis.

The mission statement of New Mexico Dance Theater School and Performance Company is to provide well rounded, professional dance training in a warm nurturing environment, as well as offering children and young adults a professional setting to learn and perform in.
